Proto Concept Iron Review

Proto Concept Iron Review You Tube video - View Here

Proto-C is a collaborative effort between the Endo forging house and the Golf Partner executive ownership group.

Golf Partner is the largest golf retailer in the world. It boasts nearly 400 retail locations and 550,000 in-stock clubs. It’s something like the Japanese equivalent to Starbucks but for golf equipment. I mention this primarily to illustrate that the company has a unique perspective and breadth of JDM market knowledge. Its leadership has a keen understanding of what works, what doesn’t and, most importantly, what resonates with the target audience.

Proto-C is short for Proto Concept. The name is indicative of a design mindset dedicated to pushing boundaries. Think of it in somewhat the same vein as a concept car. Or perhaps an experimental pursuit without the typical constraints of working to hit a target price point or release date.

Conceptual prototypes aren’t produced with a mass-market mentality.

With golf equipment, it’s fundamentally a discussion of materials and manufacturing processes. Often, more advanced materials help mitigate traditional engineering tradeoffs. For example, a driver that is both forgiving and low spinning. Or it could be an iron that looks like a muscle-back at address but plays with the forgiveness of a game-improvement iron.

In short, conceptual equipment is an exercise in working towards both having and eating one’s cake.

With its maiden release, the design team at Proto-C worked in concert with Endo to develop an industry-first manufacturing process. In addition, Endo has the capacity to forge intricate geometries. The result is equipment that adheres to tighter spec tolerances which don’t rely on superfluous materials to try and approximate a traditional forged feel.

Additionally, Proto-C states that because of Endo’s manufacturing processes, each iron and wedge model is discrete. To clarify, this means that each model is more distinct in its performance characteristics, though aesthetically the look is similar.

PROTO CONCEPT STARTING LINEUP

The initial product launch from Proto-C features four iron models, two wedges, a driving iron and a flagship driver. From a distance, it might not appear that Proto-C equipment is all that different from bellwether big-name brands. As usual, it’s the details that drive the story.

Tour Edge Launch 2 versions of 721 Irons

Two New Exotics 721 Irons Featuring VIBRCOR, Diamond Face 2.0 Technology Announced by Tour Edge

Tour Edge, the pound for pound industry leader in performance and innovation, today announced the all-new Exotics 721 Series irons: the C721 iron and the E721 iron.

These ultra-premium irons provide all new design concepts and ground-breaking technology from Tour Edge that takes the Exotics 721 Series to an entirely new level of performance.

This is being led by innovation breakthroughs by Tour Edge, most notably the new Diamond Face 2.0™ and VIBRCOR™ technology that provide the ultimate in power and feel.

The performance and design goals of the Exotics 721 Irons are to provide every level of golfer two extreme distance irons that feature full-face forgiveness and ball speed with a perfected sound and feel.

“This is next-level Exotics,” said Tour Edge founder and President David Glod. “It’s a brand-new direction for Exotics, not only with ground-breaking new tech, but with virtually every aspect of the design.”

The new direction of the Exotics 721 Series was born out of a desire to raise the bar in every metric of Exotics performance, including a major emphasis on power creation and sound and feel.

“VIBRCOR is a new technology that enhances speed and feel in a major way,” said Glod. “With the dual placement of VIBRCOR inside of the hollow-body pocket of the C721 and the undercut pocket of the E721, we’re able to provide the best of both worlds; perimeter weighted forgiveness and distance with the feel of a forged muscle-back.”

These two designs utilize the same basic design concept, with one designed as a player’s distance iron and the other as an extreme game improvement iron.

“We’ve also brought Diamond Face technology to irons for the first time ever with this release,” added Glod. “We were able to cover the entire iron face with up to 100 diamond shapes behind the face in our thinnest iron face ever produced.”

The new ultra-premium, high-performance Exotics 721 irons will be available for purchase worldwide on March 10, 2021.

“These are our most powerful, most forgiving and best feeling irons we’ve produced to date thanks to all this new innovation we have packed into them,” said Glod.

New Exotics C721 Fairway

Exotics C721 Fairway Metal

The ultra-premium Exotics C721 Fairway Metal also features an optimized M.O.I. and CG location that allows the club to produce a ball flight that boasts both higher launch and lower spin properties. This makes the clubhead more forgiving with a tight dispersion and maximized distance.

With the Ridgeback support system, Carbon Wings, and Diamond Face 2.0 leading the way to Tour Edge’s most advanced fairway ever produced.

Ridgeback Technology – Directly in line with the Exotics C721 Driver, Ridgeback technology is featured on the Exotics 721 Series fairway metal and acts an extreme power producer.

Ridgeback provides more support at center-face for increased ball speeds and a highly advanced feel.

This steel spine within the carbon crown acts as a brace to produce more power on center hits. Bracing the center of the face also allows greater face flex in the heel and toe areas meaning off-center hits achieve greater power.

Dual Carbon Wings - Tour Edge engineers designed Ridgeback to replace extra steel from the crown and sole with wrap-around Dual Carbon Wings that create more weight savings for a precise CG location.

The weight savings from the use of these Carbon Wings is then moved to the ideal location to help create the optimal low-rearward CG position that produces an extremely high M.O.I. to increase stability at impact. It also helps to optimize launch angles without increasing spin.

This is by far the most carbon fiber to be featured on the crown of an Exotics fairway metal.

Diamond Face 2.0 Technology - Diamond Face 2.0 features five different thicknesses in an interweaving pattern, compared to the three different thicknesses used previously.

The new Diamond face 2.0 also features a face thickness reduction of over 20% at the extreme perimeters of the face.

There are a total of 61 Diamond shapes featured on Diamond Face 2.0 on the Exotics C721 Fairway Metal. This is 41% more diamond shapes than Diamond Face 1.0 on the previous fairway metal.

The increase in Diamond Face coverage to the extreme heel and toe and of the fairway metal dramatically increases ball speed on off-center hits. The decrease in overall thickness of the face also saved five grams of weight, which was able to be relocated to the lowest part of the clubhead.

Adjustable Rear Backweight - A 10-gram adjustable back weight at the extreme rear of the clubhead strategically positions a perfected CG location and optimizes the M.O.I. properties of the C721 clubhead.

The M.O.I. raising backweight combined with the advances made with Ridgeback and Diamond Face 2.0 create a full-face increase in forgiveness and speed with extreme resistance to twisting at impact to enhance distance with tighter dispersion on off-center hits.

Custom individual weights (5, 15 and 18-gram weights) and a complete weight kit containing all three weights for the C721 fairway metal will be available for purchase.

Hyper-Steel Cup Face/17-4 Stainless Steel Body - The C721 Fairway Metals are made with a new Hyper-Steel that is lighter and stronger than its predecessor. This allows for more weight to be positioned in the center of the sole and the rear of the clubhead to create a unique combination of ease of launch and low spin.

Sound Diffusion Panels - Five different Sound Diffusion Panels placed strategically inside the club head vastly improve acoustics and to enhance the richness of the sound produced.

This new level of sound and feel achieved with the Exotics C721 Fairway Metal is unlike anything else due to Ridgeback, Carbon Wings and the Sound Diffusion Panels working in concert together.

Exotics Metal Woods

New Exotics 721 Metalwoods Featuring Ridgeback, Diamond Face 2.0 Technology Announced by Tour Edge

Tour Edge, the pound for pound industry leader in performance and innovation, today announced the all-new Exotics 721 Series metalwoods: the C721 driver, C721 fairway metal and C721 hybrid.

These ultra-premium metals provide all new design concepts and ground-breaking technology from Tour Edge that takes the Exotics 721 Series to an entirely new level of performance.

This is being led by innovation breakthroughs by Tour Edge, most notably the new Diamond Face 2.0™ and the Ridgeback™ support system that provides the ultimate in power and feel.

The performance and design goals of the Exotics 721 Series are to provide every level of golfer more ball speed on off-center hits with a higher launch that is combined with lower spin properties and a perfected sound and feel.

“This is next-level Exotics,” said Tour Edge founder and President David Glod. “It’s a brand-new direction for Exotics, not only with ground-breaking new tech, but with virtually every aspect of the designs.”

The new direction of the Exotics 721 Series was born out of a desire to raise the bar in every metric of Exotics performance, including a major emphasis on full-face power creation, sound and feel.

“With Exotics 721, we have forged a new path to optimal performance, power and feel for the vast majority of golfers,” said Glod. “The key is utilizing more carbon fiber than we have ever used, about 20% more on the driver and fairway with these awesome Carbon Wings that surround our new Ridgeback tech, and our first ever carbon crown hybrid.”

“We also have upgraded our Diamond Face tech to Diamond Face 2.0 that has doubled the amount of interweaving variable thicknesses and an extreme thinning of the face to create more power and forgiveness at the extreme perimeters,” added Glod.

New Exotics 721 Driver

Exotics C721 Driver

This ultra-premium driver is designed to have a perfected CG (Center of Gravity) location and extreme M.O.I. (Moment of Inertia) properties with the intent on making this Tour Edge’s most advanced driver ever produced.

This is being led by innovation breakthroughs by Tour Edge, most notably the new Diamond Face 2.0™ and the Ridgeback™ support system that provides the ultimate in power and feel.

Ridgeback Technology – Ridgeback Tech is a power producer. The Ridgeback spine within the Carbon Fiber crown acts as a brace to produce more power on center hit and allows for greater face flex in the heel and toe, meaning off-center hits achieve greater power and ball speed.

The extra rigidity created by the brace produces a much stronger feel at impact and results in a crisper and brighter feel at strike.

Carbon Wings – Tour Edge engineers designed Ridgeback to replace extra Titanium from the crown and sole with wrap-around Carbon Wings, which saves considerable weight and leads to an optimal low-rearward CG position that produces an extremely high M.O.I. to increase stability at impact.

Diamond Face 2.0 Technology – 43 different diamond shapes of variable face thickness behind the face act as mini-trampolines to create faster ball speeds and expand the sweet spot to outer areas of the face.

Adjustable Rear Backweight – A 10-gram adjustable back weight is at the extreme rear of the clubhead to help position the perfected CG and to optimize the M.O.I. properties of the C721 clubhead.

Sound Diffusion Panels – Five different Sound Diffusion Panels placed strategically inside the club head vastly improves the acoustic properties of the clubhead.

Adjustable Hosel - An adjustable hosel allows adjusting the loft Plus/Minus 2 degrees.

Acoustic Engineering - As with the driver, Acoustic Ribbing Channels on the inside of the club head help create upgraded acoustic engineering sound properties to by enriching the sound and feel of the club head.

Power Channel - A 25% deeper Power Channel on the sole behind the face is creates better weight distribution and increased face flexing. The Power Channel delivers amplified ball speed and less spin, as well as added forgiveness on shots struck lower on the face.

Premium Aldila Rogue Shaft - The mid-high launch, mid-spin shaft Aldila Rogue shaft was chosen for the Hot Launch C Series due to their even release for players that like a smooth, active feel by using advanced, high-modulus Graphitic Carbon Fibers.

Available Lofts in Right-Handed: 15-degree 3-Wood, 17-degree 4-wood, an 18-degree 5-wood and a 22-degree 7-wood.

Hot Launch C521 Driver

This Competition Spec Hot Launch C521 Driver features minimal offset designs for medium+ tempo swing speeds to attain maximum ball speed and increase forgiveness.

Hot Launch C Series is for the player seeking optimal launch and spin rates, while still enjoying the benefits of extreme ease of use, forgiveness, and accuracy.

Diamond Face/ Cup Face Technology - The 460-cc Hot Launch C521 Driver features Diamond Face technology, a major breakthrough in face technology that features 39 different thick and thin diamond shapes or “mini-trampolines” behind the face, producing a hotter face with faster ball speeds and better performance on off-center hits.

High Moment of Inertia/Rear Sole Weighting
- This new design featuring a back weight to the extreme rear of the driver makes for an extremely high Moment of Inertia (MOI) rating surpassing 5000 Grams per cubic centimeter squared, making the C Series Driver an extremely stable and powerful driver. This increased MOI will increase ball speed on miss-hits and will keep shots straighter, while the back and low Center of Gravity positioning creates high-flying, powerful tee shots.

Acoustic Engineering - Vastly upgraded acoustic engineering is achieved though Acoustic Ribbing Channels on the inside of the club head that provide top-shelf sound and feel.

Power Channel - The Power Channel on the sole of the club behind the club face is 25% deeper for better weight distribution and increased face flexing. The Power Channel delivers amplified ball speed and less spin, as well as added forgiveness on shots struck lower on the face.

Reviews of mFGP20

Don’t over think your way out of making a putt - Swami posted a review of Platinum mFGP20 - If you have solid fundamentals, the SeeMore putter is the right tool to get you shooting lower scores. SeeMore putters have fantastic feedback. So trust your putter, your swing, and clear your mind. Hide the dot and putt away.

T posted a review of Platinum mFGP20 - I bought an older model of this putter a year and a half ago. Very easy to use and made my alignment issues I was having very easy to fix. Would love to have a chance to be fitted for one in the future

Customer Reviews of M7 Tour Hosel and Offset

RST Hosel - Brilliant
SeeMore has been in my bag for over 3 years, and I cannot see a day when it won't be. Simply put, this is a small company with big reach that treats its customers like family. I like the straight in shafts, but my speed control has always been better with a plumber's neck and a little forward press. The new RST Hosel is incredible and makes all the difference for me. My third round with this putter featured an 80 foot bomb. My fourth round totaled up to 26 putts. Thank you SeeMore for building me a putter with great balance, feel, and looks. Thank you, SeeMore for making me a better putter.

M7 Tour Offset - Good putter, would buy one again - Wild Bill - bill.etter2@verizon.net, would buy another if needed.

CLASSIC TOUR-INSPIRED SHAPE

The shape of the EXS Pro Forged is more compact with a shorter heel to toe, yet with a slightly thicker top line than the EXS Pro Blade for more forgiveness, while still being on the thin side to maintain a tour-preferred player’s shape.

PRECISION MILLING

The square grooves are CNC milled for 100 percent USGA compliant grooves. The cavity in the EXS Pro irons is designed for a higher MOI and forgiveness by CNC milling to insure the deepest cavity possible in a player’s iron.

CARBON STEEL

Forged S25 Carbon Steel is chrome plated for the highest-grade materials to deliver the best in looks and an extremely soft feel. The triple-forging technique provides a thinner center and creates heel & toe weight pads for more forgiveness and more consistent ball speeds.

TUNGSTEN TOE WEIGHT

The stunning forged iron features a 10-gram Tungsten toe weight in the 3-6 irons. The Tungsten toe weight elongates the sweet spot even further for maximum forgiveness on the face.

Voted Best Driver - Exotics EXS

The tech-loaded EXS driver features a Flight Tuning System (FTS) that includes 9-gram and 3-gram interchangeable weights, an adjustable hosel that allows for plus two or minus two degrees in loft, RollFace Technology for an expanded sweet spot, Dual Carbon Fiber placement for ideal weight distribution and a new and improved SlipStream™ Sole for faster clubhead speed.

The EXS 460cc head features premium Japanese exotic metals; TSP 910 Beta Titanium face plate featuring Variable Face Thickness Technology and a 8-1-1 Titanium chassis. The TSP 910 Beta Titanium face has been made even thinner and lighter in the EXS over previous Exotics driver models to produce a greater spring-like effect.

Engineers paired the superior TSP 910 Beta Titanium face plate with the exceptionally light Carbon Fiber Crown and with additional Carbon Fiber located on the toe of clubhead, allowing weight to be strategically repositioned lower and deeper in the head for optimal spin and creating an extremely high MOI. The Dual Carbon Fiber Technology also helped Tour Edge engineers to significantly improve the acoustics of the driver and enabled them to account for the gram weight of the FTS weights and the adjustable hosel.

A new RollFace Technology incorporates modified bulge and roll on the toe to create straighter shots for shots hit off the toe, which is where the majority of miss-hits with a driver are made. In conjunction with the sweet-spot enhancing Variable Face Thickness technology, the RollFace makes this the most forgiving driver face ever produced by Tour Edge.

The aerodynamics in the EXS driver are greatly enhanced by a more sloping crown and wider speed channels on the sole. The new, more tapered head profile also reduces aerodynamic drag.

An ultra-premium Tensei CK Blue 2G shaft series by Mitsubishi Chemical is the chosen stock shaft for the EXS driver. Extremely light yet extremely stable throughout, the Tensei Blue CK features advanced materials like Carbon Fiber and Kevlar mixed with other lightweight materials that weigh in the 50-70 gram range depending on flex.
